Server Setup

Creating a private server is beyond the scope of this article, but to connect to an existing private server over Hamachi:

Client Setup

WoW is very basic to configure for access over Hamachi.

1. In your WoW install folder, open realmlist.wtf.
2. Replace the text

set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com 

With the Hamachi IP of the private server (in this example, the private server IP is 5.111.222.222)

set realmlist 5.111.222.222
set patchlist 5.111.222.222 

The next time you launch the game, make sure Hamachi is already running, and it should connect.

Note: Both realmlist and patchlist should be changed, otherwise these changes will be overwritten the next time the game is updated.
