Hamachi Talk:Warcraft 3 - Reign of Chaos, The Frozen Throne
From LogMeInWiki
i added troubleshooting - i had exactly the problem, it took me a long time to find the solution - so i put it into this wiki. hope it's fine with you guys. bye - greetings jp also changed the old discussion link (which was to a none existand thread in a forum here) to this discussion page. - jp
Even after I did all those things it still wont work. My fried said that Hamachi is updating thats why it wont work, is it true?
You both have to do this. - First thing, you need to check if ping (doubleklick on the other guy in hamachi) works.
Needs to work from both sides. - if ping does not work it's a firewall problem.
then when both sides can ping each other, you should both make hamachi the first device. (like it says here in the wiki)
good luck, i hope you get it to work.
After making the priority change, my friend and I had to restart our computers before Warcraft III started broadcasting on the hamachi network adapter instead of the LAN adapter (I checked with Wireshark). --Maceman 21:43, 1 February 2008 (CST)
Question about legality of using Hamachi
In Wc3's end user license agreement, it says:
You are entitled to use the Program for your own use, but you are not entitled to: (iv) host or provide matchmaking services for the Program, or emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Blizzard in the network feature of the Program, through protocol emulation, tunneling, modifying or adding components to the Program, use of a utility program, or any other techniques now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose including, but not limited to, network play over the Internet, network play utilizing commercial or non-commercial gaming networks, or as part of content aggregation networks without the prior written consent of Blizzard
Does a Hamachi enabled game count as hosting a game? I know its completely legal to host a LAN party:
From: http://www.starcraftii.net/us/inblizz/lanevent.html
Tournament License NOT REQUIRED Tournaments/events that do not charge for participation do not require the purchase of a tournament license. All that is required is that one legitimate copy of each Blizzard game being featured be installed on each computer.
If charges are collected for your tournament/event, but those charges are used solely to cover the rental costs for the site and the computers used there--and the tournament/event is not being organized as a profit-making endeavor--then a tournament license is not required. As with free tournaments/events, all that is required is that one legitimate copy of each Blizzard game being featured be installed on each computer.
True Hamachi Fix
Use hamachi version 1.0.1.5 The newer version will not let one host Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne games over hamachi. I just googled "Download Hamachi 1.0.1.5 I hope this works as well for you as it worked for me and my 9 friends
Frozen Throne on Mac
What if you can't see any of the games on hamachi and you are using a mac, what do you do then???
